I was sort of surprised by how quickly it ends when I read it for the first time, but I think it's not meant to be a tragedy. Khan is talking about the nature of creation and the satisfaction that comes from a worthwhile project. He doesn't specify whether or not frowns is learned from the experience. And so you just have to wait and find something new.
