How to Use a Weightlifting Belt Properly

The key to obtaining any benefits at all from a weightlifting belt is using it correctly. You do that by tensing your core muscles as if you're about to get punched in the gut and then pressing your abs out and against the belt. And what that does is it increases the amount of pressure in the abdominal cavity, which helps stabilize your spine. A lot of people wear weightlifting belts too low and can't use them properly. Tip number nine is regarding partial range of motion training: If you struggle to lock out on a deadlift, try the rack pull.
