The Justice Department's Investigation of Vice President Spiro Agnew
When Spiro Agnew gave that defiant speech in September 1973, the Nixon administration was just under incredible pressure. Three young federal prosecutors out of Maryland discovered that there was something else criminal going on in the Nixon administration. They turned up enough evidence to bring dozens of federal criminal charges against Agnew. But charging someone while they are in the White House, that was a novel concept.
