Post-War Americas - Is There a Shift?

In post war culture there was a shift. from industrial, centralized production of the same thing that is perfect to small scale individual expression. In punk we've continued that apace, i think, but what we have also lost, in a lot of ways, is that ability to break through. And again, this is why i think it's very, you know, it comes out of the beat movement and other things,. But their first big hit, such as it was, was a song called mongoloid which is about a mentally retarded person who is passing as normal.
