The Importance of Diversity in Human History
Anthropologists have long agreed that there has been more diversity in human history than previously recognized. But the idea of much greater social diversity before agriculture during the first 5,000 years of the Holocene is not appreciated by many anthropologists. The book "Wank Road" argues that we are under appreciating how socially flexible human societies can be. In some ways, I disagree with the kinds of conclusions they made.
