What's Up Market Fiction?

In the publishing world, anything that can be used to discuss social issues is deemed book club fiction. I've always been very proud of that label and if people want to talk about the social issues in my novels, i'm all for it. For me, the issue and the characters always come first. All my work comes from a place of feeling like there's an issue at hand that i want to explore as it affects families. That's always where i start, the plot settinga that comes next.
