"If the shot's underexposed, but it's a better take for some other reason, whether it's performance or just camera move or whatever, there's a balance. You're never going to get exactly what you all want," he says. "You can do a lot today, but say you have a shot that's a little soft." He adds: "I mean, I, you know, there is a few where I think the shot could have been better because the best take, the light was, was too far gone" The director also talks about using verite shooting on First Man and working with Lena Sandgren in Sicario.
