There's something funny about the idea of her making this record during the pandemic. In retrospect, she described that record as an alarm sounding. That was her intention for it and that's what it ended up representing. She had these really big tour dates planned and all of that came to a halt. I find this record to be pretty bleak at times. Her experience of the pandemic itself was pretty bleak.
