The Athenians and the City of Athens

The ancient Greek myth of Athena and Poseidon involves a contest for the city of Athens. The winner was chosen based on which god would best give them an olive tree. In essence, bribing the judges is fine: Think of the judgment of Paris. So they decide that they are going to give their city to Athena, and they in fact name it 'Athena' - same as goddess.
