I think it's important to understand that lateral leadership does not only happen on an individual contributor level, a level because also like sea level board members or VPs have to lead laterally. All that's needed here is just a shared understanding of sort of a process of how you lay out the conflict to enable decision-making. So do you have your favourite lateral leader? Do you have like your one person or your few handful of people that you've seen do this really well? I still admire my former boss Ed Xing for the empathetic way he deployed empathy to work with people on the same level as he was and never relied on if we're the strongest guy in the room
