Zana's Skeleton
Anthropological analysis indicated the remains belonged not to any antarthal, but to a woman from sub-Saharan African descent. The skeleton was buried on its side with its legs bent next to quits grave with a mirror at the head indicating that it was female. Oxford geneticist Brian Sykes analyzed samples taken from Zana's living descendants as well as a tooth taken from the skull of her son, Quit,. And lo and behold, Zana was 100% sub-Saharan Africa.
