The tangled history of housing stock for the military in the UK. The houses although they're maintained by a private firm they're also owned by a separate private firm. So long before I was ever writing about this my late colleague Square Bashir was covering the issues with Annington homes which own the housing stock under a PFI deal. It used to belong to the MOD it was all sold to Annington at a terrible time in terms of predicting the rise of house prices and rents.
