The Definition of Courage in Plato's Theology
Socrates asked a question about what it is to have excellence of the thumos. He said, anyone willing to stay at his post and face the enemy and does not run away was courageous. And he's saying that if you have been told what to fight for and you don't back down, then that's courage. But there are people in all these kinds of situations who aren't so much courageous as they are afraid or fearless. This is one reason why archetypal courage might be on the battlefields but can also be found elsewhere too.
