The Plural of Medium in Podcasting

Many people are using it as a plural, but that's so happy about it. People are using the word media like data as a singular these days. But there is one particular use where you absolutely must use the word medium and you can't use the word media. You do need to know the word medium in the sense of a vehicle for something. It is medium. We couldn't say the media of podcasting. No, it doesn't work. It's got to be the medium.
