Mbsr is in some sense a synthesis of uh a lot of people say well it's most like vapassana but if people want to do that and my corrective would be it's vapassana with a zen attitude. The first occupational hazard of any form of meditation is that instead of falling awake which at all point you'll fall asleep yes so let's start everybody out lying down let's teach lying down meditation well that's real high risk endeavor.
