The point of collaborative learning is not simply to demystify the authority of knowledge by revealing its social character. Peer assessment invites students to join us to change the social character of production itself. In other words, not just to generate an empty consensus, but rather to challenge norms and to build consensus around the idea of stronger intellectualism on the whole.
