Scots in British Imperial Forces
Scotland plays a disproportionate part in the military, well, the hard power element of the British Empire. There was a big ideology around that, which you've now again, largely forgotten. It's very interesting to look at films like The Child of the Light Brigade made in the 60s or indeed as late as Zulu Dawn at the end of the 70s. Most modern adaptations you'd think everyone that ever served in British Imperial forces came from England. But the initial huge access of Scots into British Imperial forces comes as part of the solution for post-Colon Scotland.
