Is There a Time Poverty in Your Life?
Research suggests time poverty afflicts those who are financially constrained more than people who make enough money to buy themselves out of chores. When everything in your life is very urgent and important, you have to do whatever it takes or search for endless hours for employment. That means we can't look toward the future to think about obtaining longer term goals. So prioritizing time over money enables us to be more pro social,. The autonomy paradox: Technology was supposed to free us from the office but now we take our office with us. It's not inherently good or bad, but it is trying to take attention away from other things that need doing.
