The Origins of the London Police Force
The royal irish ry was a sort of new, odd, hybrid creation. But because they were from the country, they could maintain at least some veneer of legitimacy in their actions to try to tamp down resistance in ireland. This london police force then was used as the main model for police forces in the united states when they first started to be formally founded. The largely immigrant laboring population that these early police forces were aimed at monitoring and trolling were also largely irish.
