The Evolution of Indigenous Identity in Canada
In 2016, APTN published a very detailed investigation into Joseph Boyden's genealogy. He claimed to have found indigenous ancestors on his father's side and then later on his mother's side. But none of his claims could be substantiated. They were all sort of family lore that didn't seem to have any basis in reality. It's surprising now in retrospect that it took so long for someone to start asking questions.
