Putin was thinking about gaining access for the Russian monopolistic capital to some new markets and resources he was thinking about. There were many more than one obviously materialistic reasons that dictated his logic and an eventual decision to strike first. But primarily i think that if he had to take to make this decision today knowing what he knows already he won't he wouldn't he wouldn's ever do that again when he was thinking it was a grave miscalculation on his side definitely but it was a very well constructed miscalculation in my opinion.
