The DHS's Decision to Place BioLab in the Middle of the Country
Plum Island has been studying foot and mouth disease for a long time. The GAO was asked to evaluate the evidence DHS used to support its determinations that the foot mouth disease research could be done safely on the U.S. mainland. And of course, the DHS determined, no, it's fine. Let's put it in the middle of the country. So to me, that would have made no sense.
