Zapata and the San Luis Plan
Zapata's strength here is that he knows what the struggle is about and why the peasants are supporting it, which is land. So they get a conspiratorial group going in the village via the Ayala. They support the San Luis plan in December of 1910. But then, you know, they plan that insurrection. It doesn't work out,. The local leader of Madero's movement gets arrested right away before. Zapata is still at large though. He has several thousand men under his command within weeks.
