Coffee by the mid-17th century becomes more widely available in northern Europe, mainly through traders. In Britain there was the Levant Company that traded, especially with Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. One of them is William Harvey, whose brothers were both Levant merchants; he records drinking coffee and its effect on him. And when moving towards the first coffee house? There are other people who are fairly unhappy about it, but then we have the great innovation - adding milk to coffee.
