Is It Better to Exist Than Not Exist?

Travis rooney writes an argument that i have heard in regard to the existence of hell for those separated from god, is that it is better to exist than to not exist. And so god created a place for those condemned. I am not sure of either the validity or the source of the argument,. But also, if valid, how does this aline with matthew 26 24, where jesus states that the son of man indeed goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man whom the son ofMan is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.
