Stack Exchange is a single monolithic application that powers around 200 sites. It uses Kubernetes behind the scenes, but at the end of the day it's all containers. We have health checks and alerts connected to those health checks so that when if one server goes down after an upgrade, we stop the process and we troubleshoot, reinsert repeat.
