The History of Coronation Chicken

Food historian Polly Russell explains how coronation chicken came to be. Cordon Bleu cookery school was commissioned to come up with menu for 350 visiting dignitaries, people that were attending in 1953. The dish referenced the Queen's connection with Cornwall through the courage sort of creamy sauce. But once it becomes mass produced and perhaps dumbed down in terms of its ingredients, it is no longer as significant.
