The Effects of Sleep Deprivation on the Brain

When we get into amygdala hijack, we become much more sensitized and more inflamed and irritated to what's happening in our world. When that part of the brain takes over, you're going to see the world essentially through a different lens. We often mistake grinding, burning the midnight oil, whatever we want to call it, for being effective or efficient. But we're losing efficiency when we're sleep deprived. And so that's just one glaring example,. Not to mention research from scientists at University of California, Berkeley, doing brain imaging and looking at the sleep deprived brain.
