Criminal Justice - What Did It Look Like Before the Revolution?
The founders believed that serving on criminal juries was an indispensable civic activity. If citizens still played a meaningful role in the adjudication of criminal charges like they're supposed to under the Constitution, I think it's quite clear that our system would look radically different than it does today. The British themselves tried to essentially minimize the scope and availability of jury trials just exactly the same way that the government has succeeded in doing today.
