What's the Kern of Gleason's Theorem?

A couple of her papers from the past couple of years are taking different perspectives on the jewel that is quantum theory looking from different angles. They ask can we take some pieces out and regenerate them from the axioms left behind. Their starting point is probably what is more instinctively acceptable to physicists who have the intuition that the state vector is physically there.
