Stephen knows that without guidance, Alex is going to say just whatever the fuck he wants and it's not going to be a useful interview for him. Stevens also ignores that after this point, Owen Schroyer did his video about how Neil Hesselon couldn't have held his son after the shooting and Alex on that in many ways really does undo any goodwill that he might want to pretend he has.
