Genetics Unzipped is a podcast from the Genetics Society. This week, Dr Katani goes out to Kenya with some of the Muta Graphs of Cancer Project. They are an international collaboration of DNA detectives hunting down the causes of cancer. Squeimaselles esophageal carcinoma was discovered in South Africa more than 60 years ago. It's one of the two main forms of Esophageal cancer which starts from cells lining the gullet.
