The Apophatic View of God

Maimonides was, I suppose, the most important philosophical thinker in the history of Jewish thought. He directly influenced other thinkers of his time like Aquinas and Spinoza; also Leipniz. In the Guide for the Perplexed, he claims we cannot apply positive attributes to God. The only way we can describe God is by using negations, so we can say what God is not like.
