The Medicare levies surcharge is an additional one to 1.5% of your taxable income, right? If your income exceeds particular thresholds and you don't have complying private basic hospital health insurance. So instead of paying the normal 2% Medicare levy that everybody pays regardless of health insurance, you end up paying 3%. Okay. Number five thing to think about with 30 June approaching: Probably bringing forward any expenses that you think you can claim tax-wise.
