How Much Variance Would You Expect From Past Returns?
I think people slot system traders into a little hole and say because you don't know then we can't do it well the same is true for buying hold. So long as the strategy is robust you're gonna be much better off than having no strategy whatsoever. I would draw a line in the sand right away and say you want a trading system with the win rate in excess of 40% yeah you can be profitable at 30% but mate it's a tough nut to trade it so the higher the win rate within reason the better off you are.
