The Importance of Resumption
Luke 1 presents Mary as the Ark of the new coming. She's the place where in this previously unimaginable way, God's holy presence has come to dwell on earth. In Psalm 132, verse 8 says, arise, O Lord, and go to your resting place. This is what we see fulfilled in our Lord's resurrection and ascension,. So Lord rises and then goes to his rest. And so we see this fulfilled in our ladies' assumption.
