The Principle of Division and Identification
Just because they have thirds or quarters of a cake are all parts of the same cake in the same sense. You cannot add them up and say that the two halves and the three thirds and the four quarters of the cake adopt to nine parts together when you are differently carving up the cake. Because it is undivided, even mentally, and what is divided cannot be the same as what's undivided.
