CHAPTER

Jean-Youshain Roberta - Part Two

Jean-Youshain Roberta had just finished the 1844 Paris Expo, at which he won a silver medal and sold his most impressive automaton to P.T. Barnum. Robeiro Den's magic clocks continue to be sources of fascination today for people interested in clockworks and watchmaking. The Count de Les Galapier purchased one of these clocks from Roberta Dan and was so charmed by him that he started going to the shop regularly to see what the watchmaker was working on. It was through these chats that Roberta Dan told the Count of his desire to have a stage act one day.
