Jim Jones and the People's Temple

The New West Magazine article titled Inside People's Temple was written from the interviews with 10 ex-temple members. The article detailed the horrors within People's Temple, a life of regmentation, fear and self-imposed humiliation. Jones's lawyers fought hard to keep the media's negative press at bay. Publications were threatened with lawsuits. As a result, stories were scrapped and publications were forced by temple lawyers to print redactions.
