The Multiverse Is Intractable

The only way of predicting what's going on is to postulate the existence of things you can't observe more than meet the eye, David says. The quantum system's behavior is well and truly intractable because for every particle you add, you're multiplying the number of outcomes by a thousand. That's pretty intractable. Difficult to compute. This is the intractability that was exercising Feynman. We see that it has nothing to do with unpredictability. On the contrary, it is most clearly manifested in quantum mechanical phenomena that are highly predictable.
