The Persian army is thought to have been about 250 or 300 thousand men strong. But modern day historians don't agree on exactly how they did it, says Peter Bergen. He points out that the persian army was an empire that stretched over 200 years. It's worth focusing on because history can be determined by something as simple as a weapon system and its interaction with other forces like industrialized germany in 17th century Europe.
