Among philosophers, Machiavelli is unusual. In fact, I can't think of many other examples in that we've turned him into an adjective,. So that you might say of someone, well, that was ratherMachiavelli. He's a Florentine, he's born in 4669, son of a lawyer. All that's known about his early life is that he has a good classical education. His book, the prince you pay, the prince, completed in 1513, first printed in 1532. It becomes, as it has remained ever since, an absolutely global text. Even if you write about him, you become a global text.
