I think I kind of hear where you're coming from with English and linguistics and literature. A lot of those things are also quite evident in computer science programs when you really like get into it. In many ways, what bootcamps really succeed at is the hands-on creative component of it. And a lot of computer science programs don't quite get that far, teaching that. If You Want to Write by Barbara Uland would be one of these well-regarded introductions to good writing.
