A Brief History of Aviation and the Great Depression
In 1929, Stock Market crashed and kicks off the Great Depression. Pancho Barnes has to sell her family estate in San Marino later on. She leaves all of her hard partying, high flying days and she moves out to the desert. Her neighbors are Murak Dry Lake, it's a huge expanse of land unsuitable for farming or anything else. They use the dry lake as a testing ground for planes and pilots.
