Mayat the Motherless Daughter of Ra in Egyptian Mythology

The goddess may it was said to be the motherless daughter of Ra or Atum, who was the big sun god in Egyptian mythology. Mayat's other duties included accompanying Ra in his solar barge as he sailed across the sky and advising Pharaoh so that they could keep this balance of order. She is depicted as a beautiful young woman who sometimes sported wings under her arms and often wore a white ostrich feather on her head. This feather was the same that was used to judge the souls or hearts of the dead.
