The DEA Seizes $1.8 Million in Cryptocurrencies From Binance in 2022
Federal officials have seized nearly $1.8 million with an M in cryptocurrencies from six Binance accounts tied to drug trafficking. The U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan granted a civil forfeiture request for approximately $1.9 million, which is about today's value of Bitcoin. It was part of an operation to disrupt a cash pipeline that funneled the proceeds of narcotic sales to Mexico via stablecoins," court filings say.
