Exploratory Chapters in a Novel

The first few chapters I write in a book tend to get thrown away anyway. The novel stagecraft, which is out in fall of 2015, my exploratory chapters were set in the 1920s or 1930s actually. Uh, the novel itself is now in 1907 because I got into it and I was like, this is just wrong for what I want this book to be doing.
