The Sound, the Illusion of Self and the Anoyance
If the kind of naive view of self were true, if i were hearing a sound and getting annoyed by it, then there would be some kind of intervention where i make that decision. In fact, when you pay attention to the experience, usually the anoyance comes in at the same time as the sound. So the sound, the sensation of annoyance and i, myself as an experiencing individual, all come into existence in tandem with each other. And so i think this is the buddhist insight, or one way of looking at it,.
