The Importance of Short Papers

I think Richard's things about compelling idea, very elegantly presented needn't be a novel contribution. So he as editor of the functional pearls column in JFP told reviewers to stop reading at the point where it gets too complicated or they get lost or they get bored and the paper is not yet ready there. It doesn't reject but it just means it needs to go back in the oyster and have some more polishing. Do you have an example of a pearl that has all this criteria? Yeah, like sort of the ideal pearl. yeah ideal pearl gosh, I wish you'd give me what I'm thinking about that.
