The Life and Times of Deet Emon

Deet Emon was one of four children in South Holland, near the North Sea. Her family had been relatively well off until the depression hit when she was a young girl. She remembers her family always being welcoming of the stranger. The two would eventually start dating, but Heine was conscripted. And so you can imagine where this story is headed.
